We had a fantastic short getaway at Three Forks Ranch in March. From the moment we arrived, the pristine mountainous countryside setting and warm hospitality made us feel welcome in this luxurious, all-inclusive retreat.
We stayed in the Columbine Deluxe Room, which was beautifully appointed—comfortable, spacious, and impeccably clean with thoughtful welcome gifts and touches that made it feel special. We appreciated the higher-end amenities (Dyson hair dryer, plush towels, robes, slippers, two closets, etc.). The lodge itself is absolutely stunning with beautiful original Western artwork, blending rustic elegance with high-end comfort.
The weather was not typical this year so the anticipated "winter" activities weren't available. The staff arranged some activities for warm weather, and we tried our hand at target shooting (great shooting complex including 1,000 yard targets and an extensive selection of guns), archery, and axe throwing—everything was well-organized, safe, and led by knowledgeable guides who made it fun for all skill levels. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.
The spa treatment and ritual was a great afternoon —the ranch encourages a self-guided relaxation ritual including the steam room, outdoor hot tub, salt room, and state-of-the-art hydrotherapy spa with multiple stations, which we enjoyed before and after our massages that left us completely relaxed after a day of activities. The dining was very good. Every meal was delicious, creative, and beautifully presented, with fresh ingredients and attentive service that made us feel very well taken care of. We also liked that if you needed a snack in between meals, the chefs will make you something, and there is a 24-hour snack bar available.
The staff across the board was exceptional—friendly, proactive, and genuinely dedicated to making every moment perfect. This place truly lives up to its reputation as a top-tier wellness and adventure ranch. Our stay was short, but we're already planning a return trip. Highly recommend for anyone seeking luxury in the Colorado/Wyoming outdoors!
Would definitely go back in a heartbeat.
A Dreamlike Escape at Three Forks Ranch
From the moment we arrived at Three Forks Ranch, it was clear this would be no ordinary trip. The drive opened into a setting so vast and beautiful it felt like stepping into a painting. We were welcomed with warmth that set the tone for everything that followed, gracious, thoughtful, and personal. The ranch itself told a story through museum level artwork and deeply personal photographs, weaving a narrative of beauty and care.
Mornings began with fresh juice or a smoothie, sipped while gazing at mountains where the sky kissed the ridges in colors so vivid they seemed unreal. It was the kind of view that stops you mid-step, making you question whether your eyes are playing tricks.
On my first day, Patti welcomed me at the spa with a massage that was both soothing and restorative, I wished it never ended. I followed with the hydrotherapy ritual, moving through the steam room, outdoor hot tub, and Himalayan salt room, each step renewing body and spirit. Another spa staff member, whose name I regret not recalling, went above and beyond: after learning I had forgotten my foundation, she placed a brand-new powder compact in my room later that day. Two days later, I returned for a body wrap with Spa Manager Reina. Her kindness and expertise felt magical, as if I were catching up with an old friend, and the treatment became a deeply healing experience.
While I indulged in the spa, my son and his friends spent their mornings fly fishing, guided by staff who knew every bend of the river. In the afternoons, we came together at the gun range, where the instructors created an atmosphere of safety and fun. Whether a first-timer or experienced, everyone felt supported.
The food was unforgettable. Breakfasts began with fresh pastries, lunches were beautifully prepared, and dinners rivaled fine dining anywhere in the world. The sea scallops, lamb chops, and Wagyu tenderloin melted in my mouth, and one evening, a perfectly paired glass of wine elevated the meal into something transcendent. Dining here was not just about food, it was an experience crafted to remind you that you were somewhere truly special.
We stayed in the treehouses, which felt like luxury perched in the clouds. Panoramic views stretched endlessly, while the interiors offered thoughtful touches; automatic drapery, fine art, personalized water bottles, and small gifts from housekeeping. Every detail felt designed just for us.
At night, the sky opened into a blanket of stars so sharp and bright it seemed you could reach out and touch them. The sound of babbling brooks drifted through the silence, a reminder of the deep connection to nature that the ranch inspires.
When it came time to leave, I felt grateful and wistful all at once. In only three days, I had taken over a thousand photos, yet none could capture what it felt like to stand on the deck overlooking the mountains, the water, and the immaculate grounds. My only regret is that I did not stay longer.
Three Forks Ranch gave me more than a vacation, it gave me an experience stitched with heart, beauty, and soul. It was, without question, the most remarkable travel experience of my life. Thank you to the entire staff for making a wish come true. I can only hope to return again soon.
